The Olympic Museum
An easy day looking around Lausanne.

Travel on public transport is free for visitors. The hotel prints you a pass to show if asked. The transport system is good and we caught trams and buses all day.
The City is actually pretty compact, but it is built on a steep hill. There are lots of lifts, walkways and long staircases to help you get about, and of course the free transport helps.

We had brunch in the FNAC department store which did Avocado toast for Mrs Melezet. It seems so long since we were in a big City.
In the afternoon we headed down to the lakeside to walk the promenade and visit the Olympic museum.
The musuem overlooks the lake. It is very polished and has lots of interesting exhibits, videos to watch and interactive games. There is a running track with clever lights where you can 'race' Usain Bolt.
On the way back to the hotel we stopped in the Fion quarter for a Thai meal. The food was good and the area was really busy so we had fun people watching.
Ibis Lausanne centre
This morning we caught the tram into town and changed hotels to something a little more central. Tomorrow we will head back out to pick up our trail before walking along the lake.
