Bagni caldi.
The second of two short stages to the regional centre of Viterbo which will be our last rest stop.
We grabbed a stamp at the tourist office before walking up to the top of the village.
The side of the village looking north has the best views and gives a much better impression of the town. We had a coffee before setting off on the long downhill path from town.

The Via runs on the original road, complete with huge stone slabs. We passed big open fields and the landscape became pretty flat. We could see a long way and it is notable that there are very few walkers now, compared to Tuscany.
We stopped for lunch at 'il Bagnaccio' thermal baths. It was surprisingly busy for a cold grey Monday. The baths had a nice snack bar, but were otherwise pretty basic.
We walked on to Viterbo, taking a detour to Decathlon. The suburbs of Viterbo were busy with cars and quite chaotic. Things improved when we passed through one of the city gates into the walled-off centre. The streets are narrow, but the buildings are a mix of ages and sizes. There are lots of shops and bars and it seems a lively place.
Il Palazzetto - Viterbo
A nice spacious b&b. The city centre is large, but the apartment seems quite central. We have a rest day tomorrow to explore. For supper we went to a trattoria.
