Lucca to Altopascio

New faces.
A gentle short and simple day in prospect. It was cold as we left Lucca to walk the short and flat stage to Altopascio. We stopped twice in the first hour to perk ourselves up with coffee.

The walk today was mostly on pavement through the suburbs east of Lucca. The path was well marked with plenty of infopoints, but the route wasn't particularly interesting. We chatted to 4 pilgrims that we hadn't met before and saw 3 other new faces.
We stopped in Porcari for a sandwich and met 2 more pilgrims. That's easily the busiest we have seen the Via so far.
We arrived at Altopascio at around 3. It is a nice enough town, but we were feeling fresh so decided to do few more km.
The scenery improved after Altopascio and we had a nice walk to our b&b.

A simple b&b on a small farm. We had a picnic in our room.
