Just like having a job.
Alarm at 7, pick up things laid out the night before, brisk walk to station, train, grab coffee, start walking. Stop after 4 hours, rest, then walk some more.
We needed to be sure of getting back to Piacenza for an appointment so we started early. The train to Fiorenzuola was super-modern and we had a brief look around before we set off.

The walk was similar to the last few days. Long straight roads around fields and scattered farms. The landscape was flat and the air very humid. The main crop seemed to be tomatoes, most of which had been recently harvested. There was a trailer full of recently-picked fruit - the guess is that they were destined to be passata.
There were a few things to distract from the walk - a field full of scarecrows and some signposts. About a third to go!!
We stopped and got a stamp at the Abbey di Chiaravalle della Colomba. It was a beautiful church. A dog called Dino seemed to be in charge and escorted people around the buildings.
We crossed the Autoroute to the Sun - good name and very busy. At Castione Marchesi we met Noelle, Rudi and another pilgrim - we sat outside a closed bar and ate snacks from the lovely local shop.
Fidenza was one of those places that remained just 5k away for at least an hour. We passed a farm with a great collection of old tractors.
When we finally arrived, we had a tea at the station before heading back to Piacenza.
Missionari Di S.Carlo Istituto Cristoforo Colombo
Same hostel but with its proper name. Last night before moving on tomorrow. We had a beer in Piazza Cavalli then Mrs Melezet wanted to go in a shop but the queue was too long. For supper we went to a vegan restaurant and had a splendid meal including a 'beyond meat' burger.
